EHD's new training school

Hi Dunedin HOG members, here is a bit of info on our new training school.

Edinburgh Motorcycle Training Academy is the new training school based at Edinburgh Harley Davidson which should be open for business in March. We are taking enquiries for both CBT and Full A2 and A licences and will get in touch once we have a confirmed start date.

The Instructor is Kris Rexter he has been training people for CBT and a full licence for 15 years. He started with Carmyle Rider training when they were based at Broadwood Stadium in Cumbernauld and when they moved to the Queenslie industrial estate in the east end of Glasgow. Then worked for XLR8 rider training based at the Falkirk wheel during the introduction of Module 1 and 2, due to the central location using most test centres in the central Scotland area, then worked with Happy hour rider training in the west end of Glasgow. Then worked for Route 66 rider training in Motherwell for 5 years helping to train other instructors as well as students and adjust to the new licencing requirements. The last 6 and a half years were spent as the training manager for Two Wheels rider training in Edinburgh and both instructors they have were trained up from the start by Kris. As part of the plan for Edinburgh Motorcycle Training Academy, we already have someone waiting to be trained up to deliver CBT and develop all the way to a full licence instructor.

The training school will be based in the carpark at Edinburgh Harley Davidson, for full licence courses you would be riding a Kawasaki Z650 and for A2 a restricted Z650. To begin with, we are using Zontes ZT125-G1.

For training normal sturdy jeans and normal sturdy boots that cover your ankles would be acceptable. Motorcycle jackets and gloves will be provided but you are welcome to provide your own kit. At the moment you will still need to provide your own motorcycle helmet with a clear visor, loaning of helmets will be reviewed as covid restrictions ease further.

With a referral from a Chapter member, your friends and family can get your 10% discount off of training.
