Charity Patches

Thanks again to everyone who was involved in designing, selling, posting and buying the Charity patches Over 1,200 were sold raising £3,733.50 for the NHS. We have contacted the various NHS Trusts to find out what they need and where we can help them, some of them replied with specific requests so we decided to support them where we could.

Grampian said that they have a Staff Haven Project, working their way around Grampian and as part of this they are providing reclining chairs, so we have agreed to fund a chair for the ARI Children’s Hospital which is going to be delivered next week.

Fife are planning to buy thermal water bottles for staff working in the community looking after patients in their own homes so they can get hot drinks during the day. They also want to buy earphones and speakers for patients to listen to music while they are in hospital. We were able to fund the earphones/speakers and some of the thermal water bottles.

Tayside asked for funding for coffee machines for their RnR rooms and we have agreed to send some funding towards that. We also plan to fund a living advent calendar door for Edinburgh’s Children’s Hospital. They are planning to make December as magical as possible, so instead of opening a small paper door, each day there will be a special activity behind a real hospital door. This will help make Christmas magical not medical for sick children. We have sponsored the Christmas party, which is on 15th December.

All the Trusts have agreed to send us some information and a couple of photos which will appear in future newsletters. Grampian has also asked us to submit a small article and a couple of photos for their Autumn newsletter which we will also share with you.
